Center Store Lead (Former Employee) says

"Do not work there unless you are only planning on part time and do not intend on making it a lifelong career. Workers are treated as if they are only numbers and not people. This is in no way whatsoever a family ran company or the friendliest stores in town.Team discountManagement"

Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says

"It is a decent first job. I learned great customer service and how to conduct great work environments. They are very flexible with work schedules and adjustments if necessary."

Stocker/Cashier (Former Employee) says

"● Work-life balanceThey care more about the bottom dollar. Schnucks is full of schmucks.● Pay & benefitsDon't get sick● Job security and advancementThey will keep you at the same pay scale for 2+ years● CulturePeople are awesome. But management has broken them.● OverallSchnucks is not worth it. They don't like you nor do they need you. You can find many better jobs that won't actively make you want to leave and find a new Job."

Overnight cashier (Former Employee) says

"Schnucks does not care about their employees, or safety. When I was employed, there was no help for those who worked overnight. Security officers (not cops) would sit around and pretend to watch the security system. I was very scared multiple nights when the guard would on break and leave the building for an hour. There was no way to contact him in emergency. He always took him break at the same time and that was when trouble tended to occur. None.Everything about this company is not good. From owners to management to other employees."

Stocker (Former Employee) says

"They don't pay good some of the the stories the workers are not friendly and the customers are very rude .and you do not make 30000 a year your lucky if you make 25000 a yea"

Manager (Former Employee) says

"Reported multiple managers for doing coke at work. 75% off all managers in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy sell drugs, including the Store Mangers. When reported to OSHA, they didn't even fire anyone. They forced one manager into retirement, and forced the other two managers to move stores. Look elsewhereNothingTerrible micromanaging"

Cashier (Former Employee) says

"While working for schnucks I was never told that almost everyday someone would try to rob the store wether it’s with fake coupons or just walk without paying. On top of that the managers would withhold small things about sales that would cause lots of problems. Customers are a total pain in the neck trying to steal with fak coupons. And on a 8 hour shift you only get 2, 15 minute breaks my back still hurts.NoneEverything"

Journeyman Meat Cutter/Meat Manager (Former Employee) says

"Spent 13 years working with this company, with many ups and downs, getting yelled and screamed at, even cussed out my management early on in my schnucks career, they care very little about poor work conditions, always understaffed for most of my time there, especially after the influx of additional business after the purchase of shop n save, the pile up the work knowing its impossible to get done, refused a transfer per my shop steward rights, was demoted and eventually two months later over the telephone after 13 years, if you jave a choice, choose dierbergs all the way!"

The seafood manager left and the guy doing her job is getting half what she got and they promised him back pay and management pay but told him not gonna happen after he has been doing her job for 2 months. Don't apply this company sucks management sucks u got to get things in writing and even then not good enuff. They only care about the customers"

"Dont do it. Work you like a robot. Dont pay enough. Flexible schedule is everyday holiday & weekend. Demand too much and not enough hours or quality help to go around. Only positive is health benefits thru the union."

"I was worked from 1-9, 5 days a week as a 19 year old. having no social life other than perverted employees and boomers. I specifically asked my manager for different hours yet not once did he try to get me an 11-7 day just once. Honestly is was pathetic. Also most of the meat employees are pervertedly weird. Other than that I wish I never worked here"

Center Store Associate (Current Employee) says

"The pay is horrible for what you are expected to do. District manager doesn't even speak to you unless your management. Lazy employees. Management never gives praise, only tells you what your doing wrong. Raises are horrible, union does nothing for you. Schnucks is tight and greedy, they are so freaked out over paying their employees a livable wage that its laughable. Raise prices to cover wage increases.
